Safe Work in Confined Spaces

Safe Work in Confined Spaces

According to Greek legislation, employees working in confined spaces must receive appropriate theoretical and practical training to safely conduct their tasks, properly use personal protective equipment, and follow relevant rescue procedures.

Training programs for the safe execution of work in confined spaces are designed for employees working in low to moderate-risk confined spaces. A low to moderate-risk confined space is an enclosed area where the transport of an injured worker cannot be performed using a simple stretcher and where there may be hazardous atmospheres, risks of entrapment by fluid materials, etc. Examples include manholes, tanks, silos, and boilers.

The purpose of this training is to ensure that employees can work safely while managing the risks associated with low to moderate-risk confined spaces and are also capable of rescuing a colleague in case of an emergency.
